So I thought I'd make a new theme instead of editing the old one in case I wanna go back (I haven't used the current one that long). I have no idea how to preview my changes without applying the new theme, which I don't want live, yet. Is there a way to edit the theme and look at it in secret?

EDIT: I just found this and am gonna try it. http://www.listikal.com/redesigning-your-wordpress-theme-do-it-behind-the-scenes-with-this-plugin/

I thought there'd be a normal, non-plugin way, though.

Dude. I want to know this, too because sometimes I wait until like 3am when hardly anyone is on to start changing it, but sometimes I will get tired of waiting and just do it when there's like 60 people online. LOL

I  usually test it out in a subfolder first so most all the kinks are worked out before I put it on, but it'd still be nice to know another way to do that. smile

The plugin works perfectly! I actually really like it. I thought it would be a pain to get working but you just download, unzip, put it in the plugins folder and then type in the link. It says a few other steps (renaming the css and all), but I didn't bother with that. The only problem I had was when I wiped out my themes by mistake (changed the wrong permissions) trying to get the right CHMOD for the theme so the CSS would work.

I copied my old theme and renamed that to my new one and then started changing the codes.

Before I was changing it real time and hoping nobody saw, lol! And I was doing it in another folder but then I had to change the WP code cos it wasn't pointing to a theme, then. MUCH easier this way.
